We are currently looking for a patent attorney or patent agent with a strong technical background in engineering. More specifically, you have input regarding your target billable hours. This group is more interested in keeping quality talent and providing high-quality work to clients. There is an abundance of challenging and sophisticated work here, thus you will be exposed to a diverse array of complex technologies (e.g., robotics; kinematics; structural engineering pertaining to complex dynamic systems; machine design; automated manufacturing machines, equipment, and related control systems; mechatronics; application of state-of-the-art machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI); optical systems, etc.).

The focus of the work will primarily relate to the preparation and prosecution of patents for domestic and foreign clients while also supporting practice needs in other related areas (e.g., patentability, infringement, and freedom to operate opinions; portfolio strategy and management; due diligence; litigation support; Patent Trial and Appeal Board issues).

Patent Attorney Qualifications:

• Minimum BS Mechanical engineering, Mechatronics, Physics, or related
• Must have at least 2 years of full-time claim drafting and prosecutions experience
• Demonstrated for producing high-quality patents relating to complex related technologies
• Solid communication interpersonal skills for client interaction
• State bar and USPTO bar

Patent Agent Qualifications:

• Minimum BS Mechanical engineering, Mechatronics, Physics, or related
• Must have at least 2 years of full-time claim drafting and prosecutions experience
• Demonstrated for producing high-quality patents relating to complex related technologies
• Solid communication interpersonal skills for client interaction
• USPTO bar

Patent Agent Trainee Qualifications:

• Minimum BS Mechanical engineering, Mechatronics, Physics, or related
• Must have strong expertise specifically relating to kinematics, robotics, and related electro-mechanical engineering, and control systems technologies
• Strong technical writing skills
• Solid communication interpersonal skills for client interaction
• Willingness to pass USPTO bar with a full commitment to becoming a licensed Patent Agent
