Standard Interview and tour of the facility. Met the team and then sat in a room to answer questions for about 45 minutes. Just standard things around health and safety, customer service etc.
The interview itself was fine but the follow up was appalling. I was told I'd be informed by the end of the week and, predictably, had no reply. Emailed them and had a reply saying there had been some staff sickness delaying the panel convening and some discussions around how many roles were on offer, and they would give an answer before the end of the next week. This is fair enough, it's Covid season and these things happen. However, another week passes and still no reply. I give them until the end of Friday and send another email. This time I get no reply, just a standard software generated rejection email the following Monday. Not a single word from an actual human.
If anyone from Medivet reads this, I have some notes.
- Your applicants may just be a procession of faces to you but we're people. This interview is a *big* deal to us. We have spent time and money preparing and worrying and practising all for this opportunity to impress you and advance our careers. Remember that, because it's likely you were this person too once upon a time.
- Because of the above point, I find it incredibly disrespectful that you couldn't be bothered to offer personal feedback. There were just 5 interviewees. We deserve at least that to help us in future interviews and career moves.
- From interview offer to automatic rejection mail, this process took almost a month. I get there were factors delaying the selection process but like any delay in any industry, it wouldn't have hurt you to have contacted the applicants to keep them up to date. There were only 5 of us and you could have even copied and pasted an email.
All in all this has left me with a really bad taste in my mouth. Having read your employee reviews I feel like I may have dodged a bullet so that's one bit of solace.
