Pros

As the industry leader, there is no lack of resources and tech tools. Intrapreneurial work environment and work from home flexibility. Great place to learn and get your feet wet. Active and engaged affinity groups Work with smart, connected people (colleagues) Concierge services available (pre-covid) at work

Cons

Lack of advancement and promotion opportunity unless nepotism or cronyism is involved, Women, Black/Brown folks bring your armor because the micro-aggressions will be flying and HR isn’t equipped. Get the experience/ relationships you need then exit especially if you’re not being appreciated. So much hierarchy to get something approved within management Data Transparency within HR is tough Out of pocket benefits costs need to be addressed given the size of the company Short sighted outlook on developing people Merit increase is below market and outside of producer and senior executives, salaries need to be 20%+ higher.

Pros

Pros: -Well-known global company with strong name recognition -Exposure to enterprise-level facilities operations and corporate systems -Structured safety, compliance, and work order processes -Opportunity to work in complex, high-responsibility environments

Cons

Cons: -Compensation did not feel competitive for the level of responsibility and experience required -Site-level culture can feel unsupportive and overly political -As a female engineer, I experienced bias and felt consistently second-guessed in technical decisions -Limited sense of inclusion in a male-dominated environment -Leadership support and fairness varied significantly by site -Performance management and termination processes felt abrupt and poorly communicated Overall: CBRE promotes a strong ethics culture, anonymous reporting channels, and global mobility opportunities. In my experience, these ideals did not match reality at the site level. I raised concerns in good faith and experienced discrimination and retaliation as a female engineer, which ultimately resulted in termination. Ironically, I was quickly hired by another major facilities firm (JLL) at the pay level I had been requesting, which highlighted how undervalued my experience was at CBRE and how inconsistent the application of its stated values can be.
