Pros

Decent benefits, flexible time off.

Cons

Toxic culture and poor employee treatment in IT. The problem is at the management level. Management is extremely aggressive and treats and talks to people like they are stupid and nothing they can say is good enough or they are wrong if they disagree with the Management . There are no asks there are only demands. This just trickles down to lower management. They always say their door is open but when you talk to them they get angry at you and say it must be a you problem. Everything is about C.Y.A. so you don't get in trouble or get fired. Management yells, degrades and threatens you then sets you up for failure every time with impossible goals. You fear for your job every single day. I would never recommend even my worst enemy to work in IT here.

Pros

I had a great team, and a couple of my fellow managers were decent people. Not much outside of that.

Cons

Expectations were not always clear and your accomplishments were not enough. This company is really full of themselves - Just the usual corporate BS! Superiors are micromanaging and do not welcome new ideas (or outsiders). If you question anything, they'll treat you like you're a problem! Yet, they want you to waste time fixing things that aren't broken. If your peers don't like your answer or solution, they'll immediately go to your boss's boss to complain and let it trickle down. Teamwork? They never heard of it! Discuss an issue openly - why bother? It's more efficient to backstab instead! Training is non-existent and relies on people's notes and outdated SOPs. This is a national company, and they don't even have a formal training department?! Benefits were awful and expensive. I've worked for smaller companies that offered better health plans, and multiple carriers. There are reasons why they aren't #1 in their industry.

Thank you for sharing your experience, and we’re glad to hear that you appreciated your team. It’s important to us that – no matter the position or location – employees feel valued and set up for success. That’s why we emphasize open conversations with leaders and team members, a dedicated onboarding experience with training programs, and plenty of opportunities to seek additional support and feedback. We work hard to have a culture of consistent improvement, and new ideas shared in a supportive environment help us improve processes and experiences for customers and employees alike. If you feel like this wasn’t part of the experience you had, we would be happy to hear more of your specific concerns at Careers@HercRentals.com.
