Pros

BP Australia offers strong brand recognition and stability, which makes it a solid place to build experience as an Account Manager. The company has well-established processes, clear safety standards, and access to large, well-known clients. Training is structured, and there’s good exposure to commercial operations, contract management, and stakeholder engagement across different industries. Compensation and benefits are competitive, and flexible work arrangements are supported in many teams. Safety culture is taken seriously and genuinely embedded in day-to-day operations.

Cons

The organisation can feel quite hierarchical and slow to adapt, with decision-making often taking longer than expected. As an Account Manager, workloads can be heavy, especially when managing multiple large accounts, and expectations can be high without always having enough resources. Career progression can be limited unless you are proactive and well-connected internally. Change initiatives and restructures are frequent, which can create uncertainty and shifting priorities.

Pros

I had the opportunity to work as a Product Manager at BP. The role offered a unique blend of challenges and opportunities that helped me grow both professionally and personally. Pros:** - **Diverse Projects:** BP works on a variety of energy solutions, providing exposure to different technologies and markets. This diversity keeps the work engaging. - **Collaborative Environment:** I found the company culture to encourage collaboration. Working with cross-functional teams was instrumental in developing effective products.

Cons

Cons:** - **Frequent Organizational Changes:** The constant restructuring can be exhausting and creates an atmosphere that may hinder productivity. Adapting to new team dynamics and processes can be tiring. - **Increased Stress Levels:** These changes often lead to increased stress, which can impact both team morale and individual motivation. - **Work-Life Balance:** At times, project timelines can be demanding, which might further impact work-life balance and overall job satisfaction.

Pros

Salary and benefits, good wellbeing allowance.

Cons

Not very flexible. Low morale and poor office environment following restructure. Employees which are left after restructure have been left with an ever increasing work, correcting constant errors from the new cost effective workforce and minimal emotional support from line managers after majority of friends and colleagues have left the company. CEO jumped ship as soon as all restructures were complete, clear sign of bad leadership.

Pros

The line of work itself. Certain managers were great to work under - mentorship and management styles worked well for me. Great bunch of colleagues within the department.

Cons

Some senior managers had their own agenda. The company was taken over a numbers driven CEO who shifted the KPI goal post, leading to the demise of several staff across the world, Australia included.
