Assessment centre was the main chunk of the interview process, following a phone call invite after applying online.
The process was quite enjoyable, consisting of:
- a technical segment (whiteboarding session) which simply asked to write pseudocode for some trivial tasks,
- a group task, where we had to work in small groups (4-6) to design a business function including any hardware/software we would need and how we would integrate with external APIs,
- and a behavioural interview, which involved being questioned about my GitHub profile and previous experience / soft skills.

Question 1
Have you created and used unit tests before within any of your codebases?
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Trainline (London, England) in Apr 2023
Interview
The in-person assessment day was really friendly, there was quite an easy whiteboarding session, then a social fit interview, then a grourp project with the other interns to see how you work as a team.
